Why It Doesn’t Work and What to Do Instead Today, we’re going deep into what is a very painful and tender topic for many, many of us – our excess fat and struggles with weight loss. (I’m getting super-vulnerable so stay with me) Get a tea. Snuggle up. Remember that YOU. ARE. GOOD. Take a […]
On Monday… after a very long day, I had a chat with my Unconscious Mind (UM) about my struggle to live the writer’s life… Me: I’m not getting the writing done that I know I need to be getting done. UM: Ooh! How about we wake up a couple of hours earlier in the morning […]
In Part 1, we looked at what Trust is – a Belief, a Decision, and a Value – and how our expectation of perfectTrust can destroy our relationships and any chance we have of experiencing joy in our lives. Remember that the Value of Trust, held at very deep unconscious levels, usually comes from a dysfunctional, perfectionist place of impossible-to-meet […]
Today I want to talk about ‘Trust’ and how it can sabotage otherwise very healthy relationships. How does it work? Well, let’s start by looking at what Trust is and how it works in us in both dysfunctional and functional ways because, baby, that sucker can be incredibly dysfunctional. There are a couple of pieces […]
He reached out with his warm, soft tendrils and invited me to start floating down… down… down… Here’s what happened: The day started just fine. Woke up early, had a chat with my Unconscious Mind, drank some tea, got ready for my calls …and then I got some bad news. And I got angry. And […]
I've been up to something really nerdy… I'm reading original source material for NLP.
Most of you know that I'm an NLP Trainer (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, i.e. changing your brain with language) and one of the cool things about NLP is that it is a constantly evolving set of tools and techniques all encased in one handy-dandy philosophy of excellence. In other words, we do whatever we need to do to get you to results as quickly and effortlessly as possible. And we keep coming up with better ways to do that as our understanding of the human body increases. It's so cool!
“Why does God let bad things happen to us when we are good people?”
“Why doesn’t God love us?”
In Daniel’s vision he sees an evil man who is allowed to hold-back the army of God and overthrow God’s holy sanctuary. For me, those haunting words are some of the scariest in the whole Bible. The truth was overthrown and evil was allowed to succeed in everything it did. That is terrifying to me! Why would God allow evil to have its way with His people? How bad must they have totally messed up for God to say, “I’m outta here! They’re on their own!” We don’t have to guess because it’s all right there in Daniel Chapter 8. The people forgot about God, they stopped turning to Him for guidance. They stopped loving Him and making Him their #1 priority. They placed other gods in that space in their lives and hearts that God demands for Himself.
“The ram butted everything out of his way to the west, to the north, and to the south, and no one could stand against him or help his victims. He did as he pleased and became very great.”
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
Now let's get to the heart of it: I don't like February. I mean, I *really* don't like February.
I *really* want to love February. I want to love every moment of the amazing life I've been blessed with.
I've tried and tried to love February, I really have, but this year broke me. I do everything I can: this year I celebrated Imbolc, Chinese New Year, the New Moon, Valentine's Day, Family Day, Leap Day, and everything I could find in between.
