A Divine Love Nudge…
We’re going to do something a little different today. I woke with the deep desire to speak to your heart instead of your head. To do that, I asked the Divine to give a little love.
And, of course, being Divine, there’s an abundance of over-delivering. I love that.
Enjoy this snippet of our chat from this morning and may it nourish your heart.
Vanessa: Good morning God.
V: I need some help this morning. LOL! Like I don’t need it every morning but this morning I would love to send my readers a love note. And I would also like to write one to my pastor.
G: I’m especially fond of him.
V: Yes. I can see why. That’ll never not be funny, by the way.
(it’s a reference to The Shack, if you’re wondering why it’s funny)
G: I know. It’s great, right?
V: Anyway. I’d also like guidance on the phone thing. It’s so hard to let go of the old phone number. I’ve had it for a really long time. It’s on all my stuff – my website, my business cards, my email signature. And now I’m just letting it go. Yeesh. It’s hard.
G: Does it have to be hard?
G: I mean, you get to choose how hard the hard things are and if this is really hard for you imagine how hard an actually hard decision will be. You know that it’s the right thing to do and you know that it will help you build here in New Brunswick and you know that you’re ready to let it go.
V: Maybe a ritual or something.
G: Just say good-bye, butterfly. You can even put it in your newsletter today.
V: Yes. I can do that. Okay. I’ll let it go. Love you.
(and I did)
G: Love you too. I know how hard it is to say good-bye to this when you feel like you have already given up so much and said good-bye to so many and so much but that is what life is.
Just one continual transition.
Change is the constant.
You are strong and you are brave and you can totally do this.
V: I know I can. Sometimes I just want to curl up and NOT do the hard things.
G: I know. And sometimes it’s okay to do just that. As long as you don’t stay there too long and you don’t use it as a way to avoid me and our plans.
We have so many great plans together – you and me.
You and me, kid, we’ve got a long way to walk together and when you’re hiding and feeling sorry for yourself, I miss you and the fun that we have when we are out there creating magic and miracles.
I miss you when you are not showing up powerfully… I made you, y’know, knitted you together in your mother’s womb.
V: I miss my mom.
G: I know. Oh sweetheart. You are feeling pretty down today, aren’t you?
V: Just so vulnerable. So soft. So… young.
G: Well, there’s a lot going on, isn’t there? It’s okay to feel all the things you are feeling. It’s okay. It’s part of being human.
(after all, it’s almost Samhain and the veil is thin)
V: The waves…
G: Yes. The waves. Sometimes we are Queen of the World, surfing along on top of that wave and we’ve totally nailed it and everything is clicking into place and…
…sometimes… sometimes we’re flipped ass over tea kettle…
V: … as my mom used to say.
G: Yup. As your mom used to say. And you’re swept along with the wave and it’s a struggle just to keep your head up and breathe until you reach the safety of shore.
It’s okay to be at the shore and it’s okay to rest and it’s okay to get your feet into the solid earth and reconnect and regain your equilibrium and it’s okay to do self-care and it’s okay to do all the things that you really need to do to feel ready again.
G: Yes. But.
You can’t stay there.
You can’t stay on the beach because that isn’t where the action is. You’ve got to get back out on the waves when you’re a surfer.
And you, my love, are a surfer. You are meant for the ride.
You are meant for more and better and the only way to get that is to challenge that which you fear and become more than you ever thought you could be.
For that matter, you can’t just stay with the same baby waves all your life. Every now and then you’ve got to ‘graduate’ to the bigger waves and go for the bigger challenges…
V: …and then it’s all messy and tumbly and white foam again as I tumble toward the beach…
G: …until that moment you nail it and learn to surf the bigger wave. That moment you know that this is what you are meant for.
That moment when you are in your genius, in your flow, in your power, and flying along with your hair streaming back and, just like when you are tumbling in the foam, I am right there with you, hooting and hollering and cheering you on.
V: Thank you for always being with me.
Oh! Butterfly! Don’t you see how much I love you. Can’t you FEEL it?
V: Yes, I can. When I slow down and tune in and get really real and present with you, I can feel it so HUGE and nothing else matters.
Just this moment of being with you is the best. thing. ever. I love you so much.
G: There. Now, together, let’s go do the things that have been scaring you. Let’s knock them off one by one.
For the obstacles you perceive are really just reminders to turn back to me and to be with me and to work with me so that we can make magic together.
V: Thanks. I thought so. Okay. Let’s do this.
One of the questions I get most often is this:
How do I know if I’m hearing from the Divine or my Higher Self, or if it’s my Ego or something lower and darker in energy?
This is my answer:
You can feel it in your bones. You can hear it in your ear bones. You can see it in the sparkles. This is discernment. It is a skill. You must practice it. You must develop it.
When it comes from the Divine or Higher Self, it vibrates at this light, beautiful, bright energy. It meets you where you are. It blesses you. It uplifts you, encourages you, expands you, carries you higher into a beautiful alignment. It show you what is possible and everything that you are meant for.
When it comes from Ego or something darker and lower, it has a heavy feeling, a heavy vibration. It pulls you deeper down into depression and anxiety. It lists your failures. It questions your goodness and contracts your energy. It encourages you to get small and stay small. It seduces you down and out of alignment.
The Divine will never do that. Period. It is against its very nature. It just won’t.
You get to choose who you take advice from in the Heavenly realms. Choose wisely.
Remember that you are beloved. Cherished. Wanted. Good.
Have a blessed week.
